About me

I am happy to be your teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. We will learn much on this journey together. Throughout the year, I will post information on this site such as announcements, photos, files, and videos that may be helpful to you and your parents. Always check Schoology first.

I am proud to be a science teacher at La Vergne High School. This is my second year teaching Biology. I have taught Environmental Science for 3 years and worked as an environmental scientist with TestAmerica Laboratories Inc. for sixteen years. I graduated from East Central Community College with an Associate of Science in Biology, Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and Middle Tennessee State University with a Master's in Curriculum and Education/Education Leadership. I am married with 2 kids, ages 12 and 11. When I am not busy with work or family, you can catch me reading, listening to music, or gardening.

In addition to my responsibilities as a teacher. I am a co-sponsor of Beta Club and Interact Club. I love organizing and serving alongside our students as they give back to our community.

My vision is to intentionally and effectively engage students with phenomena to make sense of the world around them through storyline units embedded with high-quality instructional materials and strategies.
