Our class: Content Area Reading Strategies combines ACT readiness in all 4 content areas (reading, English, math, and science), etymology, and cross-curricular reading strategies.
Our goal: We provide students with tips and strategies that will not only help them be successful with the ACT, NCRC, or any other college- or career-ready assessment, but we also strive to help them to be better students.
Our methods: Through differentiated instruction, technology, small group instruction, whole group instruction, reading experiences, and word study, students are exposed to various learning strategies and document their progress throughout the year with real-world ACT practice opportunities.
With 20 years of teaching experience in grades 3-10, including five years of RTI and middle school reading intervention, I am excited to bring reading strategies to the high school to help students excel in class and prepare them for success beyond graduation.
