About Me

I am Mitchell James and I will be your U.S. History teacher for the 2023-2024 school year! I grew up in right here in the middle Tennessee area in Hendersonville, Tennessee. I received my Bachelor's in History in 2015 and my Master's in Education in 2021 here in Rutherford County at MTSU. My wife, Samantha, is also a teacher who teaches first grade at McGavock Elementary in Nashville. I come from a family of educators: my mom, grandparents, aunt, and sister are all current, aspiring, or retired teachers. 

 

Outside of the classroom, I spend the majority of my time with my wife and our pets. We have a beagle named Rocky, two cats named Willie and Coco, and three snakes named Nala, Nemo, and Super. My wife and I are outdoor enthusiasts and we spend as much time possible out in nature camping, hiking, and star-gazing. My favorite tv show is Jeopardy. My favorite book is White Fang by Jack London.
