Teacher Introduction

Dear Families and Students,

My name is Andrea Morris and I will be teaching Social Studies- U.S. History for the 2023-2024 school year. This will be my 14th year teaching and my sixth year at LaVergne High School. I also serve the school leadership team as the Social Studies Department Head, US History PLC Lead, and Data Team Lead. 

I have a Doctorate degree from the University of the Cumberlands in Educational Leadership (2022), an Education Specialist degree from the University of the Cumberlands in School Administration (2020), a Master's degree in Military History at Austin Peay State University (2015), and a Bachelor's degree from Tennessee Technological University in Secondary Education (2010). I am a graduate of Lebanon High School. 

My education research interests include teacher attrition, retention, and collaboration within professional learning communities. My history research interests include World War II's 8th Airforce and landing craft. Personally, I spend much of my time outside of school with my family. My husband Nathan works at Rock Springs/Stewarts Creek Middle and our children Adalyn (9), Julianna (7), and Nathaniel (5) keep us both very busy.
