About Me

Hello! My name is Dr. Kimberly Saxon, and I will be teaching choir and piano classes this year. I taught music courses at three universities, and I have been teaching K-12 music for the last 12 years. This is my first year at LHS, and I am very excited to make music with my students!

All of my degrees are in piano and conducting. I earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts in choral conducting (with a secondary emphasis in opera and musical theatre production and conducting) from The University of Southern Mississippi. I earned both a Master of Music in choral conducting and Bachelor of Arts in piano performance from The University of Tennessee - Chattanooga.

I began playing piano at age 4, and I have traveled to twenty-six countries and throughout the United States performing as a pianist, vocalist, and conductor. I have performed at Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House (in Australia), at the White House eight times, at the Presidential Prayer Breakfast, and for national and international radio and TV broadcasts. I served in church music ministry for decades, and I still enjoy leading others in worship. I have worked in many recording studios, and I have taught music workshops all over the world and throughout the U.S. I am also a composer and arranger.

I live out in the country with my husband Herbert and our two kitties, Roxie and Rosie. My husband and I are very active in our church, and I love writing and teaching Bible studies! If you ever have any questions for me, feel free to ask!
