Welcome to JROTC at LaVergne High School!

Greetings Cadets/Parents,

I am Major Shallum I. Harris, your Senior Army Instructor (SAI) for the 2025–2026 school year. It is an honor to join the LaVergne High School community and lead our JROTC program. I recently retired after serving 20 years in the United States Army, where I held various leadership roles from company to division level operations. Prior to this position, I also had the privilege of teaching Senior ROTC at Middle Tennessee State University.

I am joined by First Sergeant Sanchez, a seasoned instructor who brings a wealth of knowledge and continuity to our program. Together, we offer over 45 years of combined military service and more than 20 years of teaching experience. Our mission is to develop strong, disciplined, and capable leaders—both in and out of the classroom.

As we begin the school year, I encourage you to:

• Check your grades regularly through Skyward using your assigned login credentials. If you need assistance, please contact the attendance office at (615) 904-3870.
• Access assignments via Schoology through the Clever portal.
• Reach out to me at [email protected] for information on your online textbook or visit the Cadet Textbook Notebook tab on the right side of our class page.

My planning period is from 12:44 PM to 2:04 PM (Monday–Friday), and I am available during that time for meetings or support. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
